Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a process that can fix minor imperfections of the teeth. This is a great solution if you have spaces, cracks, or stains in your teeth, and is excellent for small defects in the teeth. Bonding involves adhering composite resin material to the front of the tooth. This material has been matched to the color of the tooth, so that it looks like part of your natural tooth.

First, the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it in place. A gel is then applied to micro-etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bonding agent is applied so that the bonding material adheres to the surface. Then, the bonding material is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. It is then shaped and polished to a lustrous finish.
